ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Gülfem Özdoğan is a multidisciplinary artist from Turkey, currently based in London. She holds a BA in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, and an MA in Scenography from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Her work spans the fashion, film, theatre, and music industries.

With an interdisciplinary approach, Gülfem defines herself as a visual storyteller, exploring the relationship between the human body and technology. She integrates camera, video, and artificial intelligence into live performance art, aligning her research with posthumanism and transhumanism. She sees technology not only as a tool or separate force, but also as a reflection of identity, self, and politics.

Inspired by personal experiences and social and political events, Gülfem is committed to creating designs with a deep sense of responsibility, reflecting the challenges faced by both society and the environment.
